Established in 1916 by the Maharaja of Mysore, His Highness Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar, and Diwan Sir M. Visvesvaraya, the Government Soap Factory has been producing Sandal soaps featuring the oldest known perfumery material, Sandalwood. With Sandalwood oil, recommended in ancient ayurvedic texts for its skin care properties, these soaps have gained a distinct reputation in the market for their excellent antiseptic properties and ability to soothe prickly heat and skin rashes.
